"Employer connections felt weak"
I expected more from illinois.edu when it came to employer connections. A few career pages were helpful, but a lot of the info felt scattered or a bit outdated, and I literally had to dig around just to find anything that seemed useful.

Maybe it’s better if you already know exactly where to look, but for me it was frustrating. I was hoping for clearer paths to real employer contacts, and it just didn’t really deliver, so I’d rate it low.

"Parking was easier than I expected"
Getting around wasn’t too bad. The buses were easy to figure out, and parking was better than I thought it would be, especially compared to some other places. I didn’t really have much trouble with it

"Helpful info, but the price feels hard to justify"
Illinois.edu has a lot of useful information, but the overall cost of attending really stood out to me. Between tuition, fees, housing, and everything else, it adds up quickly. I’m careful about costs, so for that kind of money I was hoping to see more clear guidance on affordable options or ways to make it work financially. It seems like a good school, but from a value perspective, it felt a little too expensive for what you get.

"There’s always something happening around campus…"
There’s always something happening around campus, which makes it easy to get out and meet people. I’ve found a few really good food spots too, so that’s been a nice little win for me. Overall, people are usually super friendly and it makes the place feel welcoming.

"Tough classes, but worth it"
I took these classes a while back, maybe last spring or the semester before that, I can’t remember exactly, but I ended up getting a lot more out of them than I expected. The classes were definitely tough, but they felt fair, and the professors really knew what they were talking about. It wasn’t always easy, but I learned a ton.

"Helpful care and honestly easy to deal with"
I had a really good experience using the healthcare services through illinois.edu. Booking my appointment was straightforward, and when I had a couple questions, the staff were polite and actually helpful, so I’m not sure why some people make it sound so difficult.

The provider I saw listened to me and didn’t make me feel rushed, which matters a lot. I’ve been to places where they barely let you finish a sentence, and this wasn’t like that at all.

The wait time was reasonable too, so I can’t complain. Everything felt organized, the people were nice, and I left feeling like I got the help I needed. I’d give it 5 stars

"Pretty helpful overall, just expect some waiting"
I had a good experience overall with the mental health support. I was expecting it to be harder to find counseling, but it was actually easy, and the online resources were useful too. The only downside is that during busy weeks, the wait times can get a little frustrating. If you go in expecting that it might take some time, it’s still a helpful service.

"Getting accessibility help was surprisingly simple"
I was looking for info about captions and extra time accommodations for my classes, illinois.edu made it easy to figure out where to go. The DRES pages were clear enough, and I didn’t have to dig around forever just to find contact details. Overall, I’d say it was a smooth experience and definitely worth 5 stars from me

"Works fine, which is all I care about"
I’m on University of Illinois often for school stuff, links, and random info I need, and it’s been solid. Pages load quickly, the login usually doesn’t give me problems, and I can’t remember it being down right when I needed it. It’s not flashy, but I really don’t have the patience for a school site that makes me dig around or wait forever. It does what it’s supposed to, and that’s good enough for me.

"I had a good experience..."
I had a good experience with the faculty at University of Illinois. The professors usually got back to my emails fairly quickly, and they were nice about answering even the more basic questions. I’m not saying everything was perfect, but that kind of support definitely made classes feel a lot less stressful.

"Decent local presence, but I felt a bit unheard"
They do show up around town and seem involved with the local community, which I appreciate. I just wish they were better at actually listening to people like me. Sometimes it feels like the same voices get heard while the rest of us are left trying to get a word in.

"Nice campus, but a few frustrations..."
The campus looks nice overall, and I do like that the outdoor areas are kept clean. The libraries are solid too... good spots to study when you can find space. That said, some of the buildings feel a bit old and crowded, and parking can be a hassle. The signage isn’t always super helpful either. Overall, it’s an okay environment... just not one I’d call amazing

"Pretty smooth for what I needed"
The application process was smooth overall. It ran a little slower than I’d like, but I’m not super picky about that as long as everything works, and it did. For me, it got the job done without much hassle

"Helpful info, but I had to click around a bit"
I used illinois.edu to check out some program info and campus details, and overall it was easy to follow. Most of the pages explained things clearly, so I didn’t feel like I had to dig too hard to understand the basics.
The only thing I noticed was that some sections felt a little spread out, so I ended up clicking around more than I expected. Not a huge deal since I still found what I needed, but did anyone else run into that too?

"Ended up with a good job after graduating"
I studied CS at Illinois, and looking back, I feel like the career support was one of the biggest advantages. Some classes definitely pushed me, and it wasn’t always smooth, but the Illinois name seemed to carry weight when I was applying. I also noticed recruiters were on campus often, so it felt like there were real opportunities if you made the effort to show up.
I ended up getting an internship during my junior year, which made the whole job search feel a lot less stressful later on. By the time finals came around, I already had a full-time offer lined up. For me, it felt like the degree paid off in a practical way, and I’m glad I chose it.

"Welcoming overall, but I did feel overlooked sometimes"
illinois has a lot of people from different backgrounds, and I really liked that about it. The campus feels open, and there are tons of clubs, events, and classes where it seems like everyone can find a place. That said, there were definitely moments where I felt a bit ignored or like my voice didn’t really matter, especially in bigger settings. It’s not perfect, but overall it still feels like a welcoming and diverse place...

"Pretty solid rep"
I can’t say I know every program there but illinois.edu definitely has a strong name, especially with engineering and research. The site feels legit too, and I found what I needed without much trouble. reputation alone makes it 5 stars for me

"Pretty easy to find what I needed"
I hopped onto illinois.edu just trying to look up admissions stuff, it was painless. The site was easy to move around, the campus pages were right where I expected them to be, and I didn’t run into any weird menus or broken links or anything like that. It’s nice when a school website just kind of lets you get in, find the info, and move on.

"Felt safe using the site"
I felt comfortable using the site, honestly. The security info was easy to understand, and... yeah, it made me feel safe enough to continue without worrying too much.
